Laboratoires Gilbert was created 1904 and was bought in 1958 by Jacques Batteur, who located the firm in Hérouville-Saint-Clair in Normandy. Under the impetus of Laurent Batteur, the current president of the group, the enterprise grew quickly and at a steady rate and through creations and takeovers it acquired other companies to give the group its current structure.
